I have a specific use case where we currently utilize Databricks notebooks to translate text from any language to English by using the googloe translate API. However, the cost associated with using Databricks solely for this task is quite high. I am interested in exploring if there are Azure SQL solutions that can achieve the same language translation functionality to English. If such alternatives exist, it would enable us to decommission Databricks and reduce our operational costs significantly.
Regarding costs, recommend you start SMALL with any Azure service and monitor the costs often (at least daily) before you ramp up volume. It is exceptionally easy to get bitten by hidden costs (I just had a $200 monthly bill for a service I didn't even know was turned on, and had per-minute costs).
