SQL Server System CLR Types for SQL Server 2014 SP1 (v12.0.4436.0)

Hello,

Trying to install SharedManagementObjects.msi and SQLSysClrTypes.msi from the site below:

Able to install SharedManagementObjects.msi, but SQLSysClrTypes.msi fails with the following error:

Installation of Microsoft System CLR Types for SQL Server 2014 failed because a higher version already exists on the machine. To proceed, uninstall the higher version and then run Microsoft System CLR Types for SQL Server 2014 Setup again.

I have SQL Server v12.0.4436.0. Not sure why its telling me that I have a higher version because it looks like this file is only available for the SP versions, not the commutative updates.

Please advise.

Try this it may be helpful to you:

Use 7zip to extract the agent.exe file.

Go into the "runtime" folder and try to manually install the SQL prereq. If you get an error like the following:

"Installation of the SQL server 2008 failed because a higher version already exists on the machine…"

Then a new version of the file is already installed and proceed with installing the agent.msi file in the extraction.
