Setting Up A User/Login with 'SA' power

Hi everybody,

Can someone please list the steps in order for creating a user/login that will be just like 'SA'? I'm doing something wrong because the result of me trying to login with my attempt ends up with the below message:

A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (Provider: Shared Memory Provider, error: 0 - No process is on the other end of the pipe.) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 233)

No process is on the other end of the pipe

Sounds dangerous. What are you attempting to do? Then maybe we can provide sone guidance

There are two of us who are the 'SA's in this new to us server and i wanted to set us up so that we each have our own 'SA' type logins and not actually use the 'SA' login. We will be the 'SA's and the application developers.

Best to either create a role and add yoursleves to it or create an AD Group SqlAdmins and add yourselves to that group and give that group or role sa permission sysAdmins. Clean up will be much easier when you become CTO
