Hi team, i have implemented a DR site for one of our SQL 2012 boxes. One thing I have noticed is that the Live/Main site is taking less of disk space if compared to the DR. Please see attached. what is the cause? First image represents Live and the second represents DR. Both drives have almost 1TB of space, but the used space and unused is different.
No way for us to really tell...but if you are using log shipping to create the DR system then you have to account for the backup and transaction log files that are shipped.
It also depends on what files are on each server, how you configured it for DR - and what files actually exist on each drive.
