Deadlock Proplem

i am using vb6 and sql 2005
when i make concurrent update deadlock error occure

Is it possible that, for example, one process is doing

UPDATE TableA ...
UPDATE TableB ...

and another process is doign

UPDATE TableB ...
UPDATE TableA ...

?

That is the classic deadly-embrace situation.
