Datartype in Excel Sheed not recognized

Hi

Im trying to import an EXCEL sheed using the Assistent (Excel 2010 SQL 2012).
In some Coloumns I face a problem.
These are defined as date, but the wizard turns them into nchar. This happens if the first row is empty only.
If there is an valid date, everything runs fine...

Any Idea?

SSIS behavior is like that. Please make sure that first row of the value should define the column type and length.
otherwise To convert the char data to date use derived column transformation
