Create polygon using lon/lat and distance variable

Greetings

given following data

location_name,lon,lat

is it possible to create a polygon based on a distance variable?

So lets say the location is new york city. I have lon/lat for all coffee places in the city, then i want to create a polygon of coffee spots that are within a 2 mile radius from each .
