I am using SSMS 2008 R2, and I cannot connect to a sql compact database. When I try, I get the following message: "Unknown error. Possibly SQL Server Compact is not correctly installed. (SQL Server Compact ADO.NET Data Provider)"
I know this is an issue with SQL Compact, but I am at a loss as to how to fix it. I've uninstalled and reinstalled SQL compact 3.5 SP1 and SP2. I've even reinstalled Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition (don't know if that's even related to this or not).
I've uninstalled SQL Server 2008 R2 and reinstalled that as well.
Any ideas on how to proceed?
My PC is Windows 7, 64-bit.
