I want Advice on Moving from SSRS to Power BI for Reporting

As part of the transition, I’m currently moving from SSRS to Power BI. With SQL Server 2025 no longer supporting SSRS, it's clear that migrating reports to Power BI is the way forward. If you're feeling uncertain about the shift, rest assured—Power BI offers a familiar experience for SSRS users, with enhanced capabilities and a more intuitive interface. If you’re comfortable with SSRS, adapting to Power BI will come naturally.

I had the pleasure of spending a day with Patrick at a recent SQL event, which was incredibly insightful. I highly recommend exploring Guy in a Cube - YouTube, they provide a wealth of high-quality tutorials and even offer a structured course (paid). Additionally, Microsoft Learn offers free training resources to help you get started.

If you have experience with SSRS and SSAS, you're well-positioned to excel in Power BI. The learning curve is manageable, and the potential is tremendous.
