SQL Agent / stored procedure mystery.

I have a SQL Agent job that runs a stored procedure. Certain variables are set inside the stored procedure.
When the SQL Agent job is executed the via a schedule, the variables inside the stored procedure do not seem to be set. However, when I manually run the SQL Agent job the stored procedure executes fine.
What am I missing?
